DI-GATA Defenders follows the legendary quest of four young heroes as they encounter colorful villains, strange and unique creatures, and exotic locales over the course of their journey.
Dark Equinox, Part 1
After an attack by a Zad, Kara gets spirited away to the Dark Realm. There she meets Brackus who has been imprisoned by Nazmul. She is forced to join Brackus in order to re-gain her warrior stone and return home. Meanwhile, the Defenders must find a way to rescue Kara and learn the purpose of Rion's shift stone.
Dark Equinox, Part 2
Kara is double-crossed by Brackus and must find a way home from the Dark Realm by herself. The Defenders reach a dojo where they find shrines of their parents. They open a portal to the Dark Realm and must contend with the menaces that escape in order to save Kara.
The Healer
After the Defenders discover that Doku and a group of warlords is planning to take control of Rados, Seth gets wounded as a result of Rion jumping in to an attack. The Defenders take Seth to a healer they have heard about only to discover that the healer is the amnesiac Brackus. The Defenders must decide whether Brackus is being truthful while evading the warlords long enough to give Seth a chance to heal.
Guardians for Sale
When the Defenders learn of the black market Guardian dealer Sii, they pose as interested customers. Sii discovers their plans and traps them in an arena where they are forced to battle freak guardians. Sii then uses a machine to turn the Defenders guardians into 1 monster guardian which wants to destroy Brackus. Can they stop it before it's too late?
The Magnificent Two
When a mining village is terrorized by Kid Cole, Erik and Rion respond to the call for help while Seth and Mel go in search of Malco and Flinch. When Rion leaves after an argument, Erik must take on Kid Cole and his gang alone. Erik is wounded by Dark Viper, who he realizes is Brackus old Guardian. Brackus is able to heal Erik's wound before Erik sets off to re-join Rion and take on Kid Cole and Dark Viper.
Regenesis
Erik, Rion and Brackus head to the island of Rivas to meet up with Seth and Mel and help find Brim the stone cutter. The group finds Brim but must first contend with his prison guard: the Yar-Maroth monster. After a narrow victory, Brackus tells them that Malco and Flinch are going to Mount Froza where they'll force brim to cut the Nova Stone and release Nazmul.
Malco Redux
Mel has a vision of the temple of Yan-Sumos, an ancient battleground where the Wizards of Yan fought the Ethos. The Defenders set off to investigate and meet an old man who tells them that Mel is the key to finding the Orb of Ogama-Yan. The group discover that a changed Malco, now possessed by three Ethos, is there looking for the same orb, and they must fight him to get it first.
Back Track
Flinch coerces the Zads into an alliance with the Ethos. Brackus tells the Defenders that Malco intends to use the orb of Ogama-Yan to find five parts of a super weapon called the Celestial Abyss. Mel goes back in time to try to discover where the 5 icons were hidden. However, she lands in the middle of the Ethos war against the Wizards of Yan where she changes the future! Now she must work with some strange allies to undo the damage she causes.
We’re No Guardian Angels
Under Malco's orders, Zads break into Gata-Shin prison and take Sii. The Defenders go to rescue Sii, leaving Rion behind. They discover that Flinch has used Sii's guardianizer to turn Rion into a dangerous guardian. Seth must become a guardian himself in order to save Rion.
Von Faustien
Mel learns that one of the pieces of the Celestial Abyss is at the Temple of Yan-Mara. Before they can leave, they hear a distress signal from Rivas. The icon must wait. In Rivas, they meet the rebel Ethos hunter Von Faustien. They join forces and head to the temple, only to lose the icon to the lethal K Tahsh. The group learns that Von Faustien has an Ethos inside him, and they must get the icon back and stop Von Faustien joining the other side.
Notes From the Underground
When the Defenders set out to find the second icon, they encounter competition from the wizard, Kor who has been resurrected by Malco. In battle, Mel discovers she is the only one with the power to free Kor from Malco's hold.
The Horn of Neglos
When Seth's arm is gravely injured during a surprise attack by K Tahsh, the Defenders travel to Mau-data to heal him where they find Adam. Once there, they discover that K Tahsh implanted a homing signal in Seth. This attracts a giant with his own guardian bent on destroying the Defenders. Seth must decide between sacrificing his casting arm or saving his friends.
The Tower
Seth is finding life difficult trying to adjust to the loss of his arm and Erik tries to help by building him a bionic arm. The Defenders learn that Doku has revived an ancient airship capable of drawing the Sigil energy out of Rados. The group is forced to take on Doku but learn that Seth has begun to join Doku due to the effects of mechanic arm. Will the Defenders be able to stop Doku and save Seth?
