Paladin is hired by Morgan Gibbs to bring in his son, who is wanted for murder. There is a $500 dead or alive bounty on him and Morgan offers to pay Paladin $5000 to bring him in alive.
The Search
Mrs. Kilmer is dying and asks Paladin to find her missing son, Martin Kilmer. Edwards, a detective, managed to trace Martin as far as Harper City, where Edwards was then killed.
